Tourism and Travel
Introduction
The travel industry in Canada is facing
difficult economic times. Tourism has dropped dramatically causing many
hardships for canadians. The Canadian government has picked your team to
develop and create travel brochures to attract tourist to the many provinces.
Along with the travel brochures, each team with do a sales presentation
on their findings.
Task
Each group must gather information,
and after discussion with other team members, choose to feature only those
facts that will appeal to potential visitors. Use plenty of
persuasive and descriptive language. Each member of the group
will take one of the following roles: Historian, Tour Guide, Recreation/Cultural
Events Planner, Weather Consultant, or Materials manager. The brochure
must contain these items for each role:
Item One: Historian
Name of province, flag, seal and bird/flower/animal.
Also give historical facts and events of interest.

Process
Visit the following web sites to locate facts, figures, maps, and images for your brochure. Be sure and choose only the most remarkable features that will intrigue and entice visitors to visit. Not every fact will be appropriate. Design your brochure so that it is clear, attractive and very persuasive. Since you will be producing a travel brochure and doing a presentation, it is necessary for you to keep notes of your information either by printing them or maintaining records in your research worksheet.

Evaluation

Conclusion

Canada is our neighbor to the north with many similarities
and differences to our country. In your cooperative groups you were
required to make difficult decisions about which information was best.
Your judgment and analysis produced the end product, a brochure and presentation.
Do you ever plan to vacation in Canada? Well, on your next visit
to the travel agent you will be prepared and know where your going.
